Mijk van Dijk: Wiederveröffentlichung von Microglobe Album auf neuem Label
Mijk van Dijk hat vor allem in den 90ern unter vielen verschiedenen Projektnamen veröffentlicht. Zu nennen seien da beispielsweise Marmion, Mind Gear, Loopzone, Mijk`s Magic Marble Box oder auch Microglobe. Nun hat der Berliner ein neues Label namens Environ-Mental Recordings gegründet. Auf diesem sollen neben neuen Tracks auch alte Releases in neu gemasterter Form digital neu erscheinen. Den Anfang macht das Microglobe Album “Afreuropamericasiaustralica”, das erstmals 1994 auf MFS herauskam und gleichzeitig Mijks Albumebüt war.
“In 14 tracks, merged into one fantastic mix, young Mijk shared his visions about the state of our planet and cultures. He stood for those indisputable values of House music in `All Our Colours´, identifies the now often discussed `Culture Clash´as a “Fear Of The Unknown´and spreads rays of hope towards the album`s finale with the track “The Good Earth”.

During the making of the original album, Mijk chose to construct the tracks in a fashion that would make it easy to glue them together in the mastering studio. Remember, this was the MIDI age, when harddisk recording was still unbelievably rare and expensive. His studio was only a mere collection of old and cheap gear from the second-hand shop. MIDI-controlled by an Atari. As a result of this intenive production method most of the original tracks on the CD album had no proper start or ending, so Mijk personally edited all tracks for this 2010-re-release to let each of them stand alone on its own digital feet.

ich hab sie mir letztens erst auf vinyl gekauft :-)
das war noch richtiger sound… so voller energie…
und das elektronische musik auch politisch sein kann konnte er auf dem album auch zeigen… all our colours :-)
kommt denn auch ne vinyl version raus ?
Beim guten alten Mijk kommen kommen mir Bilder von führeren Zeiten in den Kopf. Ich glaube es ist jetzt schon gut 10 Jahre her, dass ich ihn in Hamburg im Phonodrome auf einer Superstition-Party gesehen habe. Das war geil… naja man wird eben nicht jünger.
Ich hab ihn natürlich nicht nur gesehen, sondern auch eines seiner genialen Sets gehört und dazu ordentlich natürlich auch ordentlich gezappelt… Die Druckkammer des alten Phonodromes war echt legendär.
